I have to admit when I heard the news that Polaroid was longer going to produce instant film I was devastated. I was left with too many questions like-- "have they lost their minds?", "what's the deal with this PoGo stuff?", "should I care?", "What is ZINK technology?" But then I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I have to say that the people at Polaroid really having something here. This is a really neat way to instantly share photos. You can choose to get the printer or the camera. I've decided to go with the printer because it's compatible with my digital SLR. Yes, you read that right, you can use this with most cameras, and even some cell phones. The prints that you get are 2" x 3", borderless, and has peel-off sticky backs. The prints are also inkless. That's where the ZINK technology comes in, I'll let Polaroid explain:

"The heart of this new "ZINK" category of printing is the ZINK Paper™. The patented ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals, activated with 200 million heat pulses, in 30 seconds, in a single pass. With 100 billion crystals in a 2x3" print, the paper is 100% inkless. A ZINK-enabled printer uses heat to activate and colorize these crystals. Because there is no ink, every ZINK-enabled device has the unique benefits of being small, simple, elegant, and eco-friendly."

The 5MP camera with integrated printer was released just last month and features a 3" LCD screen and built-in editing tools.

I have already seen manipulations showing up on the web with the manipulations of the prints much like artists would manipulate the Polaroid's Time Zero film. It's going to be a while before it's perfect, but for the time being I have to say this is a neat gadget for any photo geek.
